Presto Change-O Wine
A fun packaging exercise utilizing a magical last name
This assignment was to create wine labels utilizing our last name. This helped with practicing identity and package design along with design consistency.
My nickname my whole life has been my last name...Presto. "Presto Change-O" some would yell out optimistically after I deliver my full name, as if I'd performed some sort of magic trick. The funny thing about this project was that wine and magic have almost the same influence over a person; that there are illusions after it's performance where the mind opens up to understand what is happening or what has happened and everything else in between.
In the visuals, you'll see a magician with a dazed gaze as if he is under a spell. You'll see this same shape floating around evoking a sort of hynotizing trance to the consumer, very similar to how wine has an affect on the consumer. The world's greatest magicians from the Middle Ages through 1950's have always been "conduits to a parrallel universe of limitless possibility envoking illusion, enchantement and wonder"...and because of this, I chose to create a 1950's inspired magician.
