about project

This assignment was an exploration of photo communication and how photos can mold a story into life by they way they are organized and displayed.

general concept

"The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction" by Walter Benjamin speaks of how art was mainly issued as a unique form; a single piece that was special to have because of its rarity. During this time of mechanical reproduction, a handful of people could begin owning art. It started this cultural criticism which proposed the devaluation of art work. Originally created in poster form, the concept behind this assignment was to mimic that devaluation of work through mechanical reproduction.
